Olean- Steven A. Mead “Avid Outdoorsman”

Steven A. Mead passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his home of a natural cause.

Steven was born February 27, 1970, in Bradford and was the son of Stanley and Vivian Pachidao Mead. On May 7, 2000, in Olean he married Holly L. Shafer-Mead, who survives.

Steven served in the United States Navy, being honorably discharged on May 26, 1992, and was also United States Navy Reserve. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, working in his garage, and taking care of his lawn. He will be remembered for always helping others.

Along with his wife Holly, Steven is survived by; 2 sisters, Susan of Norwich, CT and Lois of Wellsville; a niece, Danielle (Antwan) Haywood; 2 great nieces, Sloan and Cleo Haywood.

Steven was predeceased by; his parents; and sister, Thelma Mead.

A memorial service will be held at Olean War Veterans Park, 551 East State Street, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00pm. The Rev. David W. Herne will officiate.
