Portville- Stanley Miller “Loving Father, Grandfather Great Grandfather & Great Great Grandfather”
Stanley Miller of Coon Hollow Road, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Janet (Larry) Shrauger.
Stanley was born March 28, 1929, in Black Springs, AR and was the son of Steward and Mary L. Alexander Miller. On August 3, 1952, at the Olean First Baptist Church, he married Betty Jane Harwood who predeceased him January 12, 2021.
Stanley was a 1947 graduate of Friendship Highschool. He served in the US Army in Europe during the occupation period mostly in Austria, in the Adjective Generals Office from 1948 to 1950. Stanley then served in the Army Reserves. He went to work at Dresser Clark in 1950 as a photographer, retiring in 1991.
Stanley enjoyed fishing, hunting and remote-control airplanes.
Stanley had four children Barbara, Twins, Terry, Larry, and Janet.
One of his children went into the Marine Corps (Larry). Two of his grandchildren went into the Navy (Brigette and Kim). Four of his great grandchildren entered into service all four Marine Corps (Byron, Tristen, Justin, and Noah). This was something that made him really proud. He enjoyed sharing his Army memories with them.
Barbara Jean had four children, Kostas Katsigiannis, Brigette Barr, Jennifer Hendrickson, Kim Cook. Larry has two children, Chealsa Miller and Jesse Miller. Terry has two children, TJ (deceased) and Jessica Miller. Janet has two children, Jeremy Shrauger and Aaron Shrauger.
He had 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren and one on the way, but he had left us so much to be thankful for.
Along with his wife, Betty, Stanley was predeceased by; his parents and daughter, Barbara J. Miller on July 30, 2019 from MS and his sister, Lelia.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held beginning with full military honors accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 ritual team.
