Hinsdale- Shelly Marie Hlasnick

Shelly Marie Hlasnick, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Hinsdale, New York, on September 6, 2026, following a sudden and brief illness.

She entered the world on June 26, 1952, at St. Francis Hospital in Olean, New York, the cherished daughter of Armond J. and Gladys DiCola. Shelly graduated from Walsh High School and dedicated much of her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, though many in the community will also remember her from working part-time at the Beef N Barrel and Angee’s restaurants.

For 56 beautiful years, Shelly was the devoted and loving wife of David Hlasnick. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and deep commitment. Shelly’s greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart into being a nurturing mother, grandmother, and anchor for those she loved. She truly loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by her family and friends, especially during the holidays when she could host large family gatherings and cook for everyone she loved. Shelly took great pride in her home and found so much joy in caring for her house and yard. She truly appreciated the simpler things in life. Some of her family’s most cherished memories will be of the time she loved spending on her porch, drinking her coffee in the morning and watching thunderstorms at night.

She is survived by her beloved husband, David; her two daughters, Stacey (Matt) Mons and Julie (Jonathan) Sheats; and her son, Jason (Andrea) Hlasnick. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren, who adored her deeply, and she was looking forward with great anticipation to becoming a great-grandmother. She is also survived by her two brothers, Craig DiCola and Lawrence DiCola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armond J. and Gladys DiCola.

Services are scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, at a time to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 East State Street, Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com.
