Portville- Rodney E. Tierson “Loving Husband, Father & Brother”

Rodney E. Tierson of Brooklyn Street passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his home.

Rod was born on July 27, 1963 in Columbus, OH and was the son of Thomas Willis and Joann Marie Hanchett Tierson.  On July 3, 1986 in Denver, CO he married the love of his life Melissa K. Burrows who survives.

Rod  was a 1983 graduate of Olean High School.  He worked at Tops for a couple of years before serving in the US Airforce for 9 years from April 10, 1986 to March 31,1995.  Rod began working for Dexter Hysol in North Olean for 13 years from 1995 to 2008.  He then went to work for ABC (Alleghany Bradford Corporation) in Bradford as a Quality Control Supervisor where he has worked for the past 15 years.

Rodney enjoyed riding his spider and participating in dice runs.  He was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan and he loved his dog Glacier.

Along with his loving wife Melissa, Rodney is survived by; a daughter, Stephanie S. (Shayne) Stephens of Cuba; 2 siblings, Ricky A. (Debra) Tierson of Hinsdale and Randy S. (Amy) Tierson of Derby, KS and several nieces and nephews.

Rodney was predeceased by; his parents; a brother, Russell T. Tierson on March 10, 2023.

Friends will be received today, Saturday, August 26, 2023 in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at which time a funeral services will be held beginning with full military honors accorded by the Portville American Legion Post 814 ritual team. Shawn W. Morris Associate Pastor of The Pentecostals will officiate.
