Allegany- Richard B. “Lurch” Black
Richard “Lurch” Black of Church Road passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Richard was born on May 16, 1944, in Dunbar, PA., and was the son of Ray and Ellen Kirby Black.
Richard graduated from Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Marines in 1963 and served in Vietnam until he was honorably discharged in 1967. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycles. He enjoyed laughing, joking and lunch with “the boys.” He is a retired member of Animals MC and a lifelong supporter of the Outlaws MC for over 50 years. He was a member of Harvest Field Ministries and lovingly known as the head of security.
Richard is survived by his five children, Jeanette Zaragoza, Rick Black, Karin (Gerry) Molnar, Mark (Robyn) Bordonaro, and Porsche (Tom) Travis as well as his siblings Leanne (Ron) Ferry and Linda Black. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and two grandcats.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, a son Jason Black, two sisters Betty Black and Robin Black Summers, and a grandcat Teemo.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Allegany American Legion, 4350 Route 417, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 5:00pm. The Rev. Douglas E. Travis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harvest Field Ministries Soup Kitchen in his honor 408 W State St. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E.
