Ray C. Kelley of East State Street passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Olean General Hospital following an illness.

 

Ray was born on February 11, 1958, in Buffalo and was the son of Leo Joseph and Marlene M. Abbotoy Kelley.

 

Ray was a 1975 graduate of Fillmore Central School and attended Geneseo for a year. Ray joined the US Marines on February 23, 1976 and served until February 22, 1979. Ray worked several odd jobs until he became disabled. Ray enjoyed hunting, reading the Bible, listening to music, and playing the guitar and drums in the Kelley Mountain Boys with his brothers. Ray was known for always giving to others and always putting them first.

 

Ray is survived by his sons: Ray A. Kelley of Olean, and Rikki Lee Kelley of Perry, three siblings, Rodney B. Kelley of Allegany, Terry L. (Sandra) Kelley of Fillmore, Renee M. (Dan) Taylor of Friendship, several nieces and nephews.

 

Ray was predeceased by his parents, three siblings, Randall L. Kelley on November 4, 1977, Leo J. Kelley III on January 3, 1992, and Jody L. Kelley June 6, 1988.

 

Burial and graveside service will be held at Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY on May 22, 2023, at 10:00am with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com

 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a foundation that provides support for mental illnesses of your choice.
