Olean – Ralph A. Skinner “Beloved Husband, Father & Grandfather” Ralph “Al” Skinner of 231 Hamilton Ave. passed away peacefully on July 14, 2021 at 8 AM surrounded by his family. Born May 23, 1944 in Wellsville, NY Al was the son of Ralph H. Skinner and Wilma Marie Skinner. On August 24, 1985 in Salamanca, NY he married Deborah J Ferry, who survives. Al served in the US Army from Sept. 28, 1962 to Sept. 27, 1965 as a Helicopter & Aircraft Mechanic/ Specialist. He was an employee of National Fuel Gas Company and worked as a Senior Service Man and retired after 36 years of service, on Feb. 1, 2004. Al and his wife went to Florida for the winter months and returned to Olean for the summer. He loved building and loved to help people. Al acquired many close friends through the years. He also loved stock car racing and raced at the Olean speedway in his younger days. Al became a Daytona 500 Racecar fan, and an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He also coached little league baseball and led his team to be undefeated and was a Toronto Blue Jays baseball fan for many years. Al was a member of the Portville American Legion Post 0814. Al liked to camp, to go boating, riding his trike, being with his family and friends, having cookouts, throwing birthday parties, and surprising people in unique situations with unique gifts. In addition to his wife, Al is survived by; 3 daughters, Lori Skinner Raughley of Maryland, Kim (Tim) Emley of Portville, and Jamie (Kevin) Brisbee of Olean; a son, Mark (Maybel) Skinner of Tennessee; a brother, Richard Skinner of Florida; 14 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Al is predeceased by his brother Larry Skinner. There will be no Services for Ralph “Al” at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean.
