Cuba – Philip W. Cole "Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather"
Philip W. Cole, of 9154 Health Camp Road, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Phil was born on May 30, 1933 in Ceres and was a son of Philip H. and Eloise Garcia Cole. On December 13, 1952 in Olean, he married his wife of 57 years, Nancy A. Shott, who predeceased him on January 7, 2009.
Phil served in the US Army from April 8, 1953 to April 7, 1955. He worked at Dresser Rand in Olean for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. Phil also worked as a meat cutter at Loblaws for a number of years during that same time. Following his retirement, he drove a limousine for a period of time, as well as, shuffling cars between dealerships and the auto auction for Team Chevy for a number of years.
Phil was an avid reader and enjoyed watching crime shows. He also enjoyed being at home, but he truly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Phil is survived by; 4 children, Linda L. (Thomas) Vennard of Auburndale, FL, Philip H. (Cindy) Cole of Hinsdale, Kathryn M. Cole of Winchester, VA, and Elaiza (Mark) Neu of Cuba; 9 grandchildren, Thomas, Tammi, Kimberly, James, Michael, Kristina, Claudia, Patrick, and Lauren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Along with his loving wife, Nancy, Phil was predeceased by his parents.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at the Hinsdale Cemetery on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Becky Worth will officiate. Burial will be at Hinsdale Cemetery in Hinsdale, NY.
