Olean- Paula A. Paar “Loving Wife & Best Friend”

 Paula A. Paar of 620 ½ West State Street, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

 Paula was born November 1, 1955, in Olean and was the daughter of John R. and Elizabeth McLaughin Bean Sr.  On November 11, 1999, in Olean she married her husband of 24 years, Thomas M. Paar who survives.  

 Paula attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Olean High School in 1973.  After high school she worked for the former Warner Cable Co. in Olean before relocating to Tucson Arizona.  After returning to Olean, she met and married her husband, Thomas.   Together they owned and operated Toms W. State News until they sold it in 2014.

 Along with her loving husband, Thomas, Paula is survived by; 2 stepdaughters, Shannon L. (Norman) Lockhart of Venice, FL and Jessica M. Paar of N. Port, FL; 2 step-grandchildren, Jacob Lockhart and Erin Lockhart; 2 sisters-in-law, Sharon Bean and Colleen Donavon both of Olean; 2 nephews, John Bean and James (Andrea) Bean; 2 nieces, Alicia Oberfell and Emily Bean and several grand nieces and nephews.

 Paula was predeceased by; her parents and 2 brothers, John R. Bean and Charles R. Bean.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels.
