Norman David Rhinehart

May 24, 1964 — March 10, 2021

Olean – Norman D. Rhinehart, II Norman David Rhinehart, Jr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021, in Olean, New York. A lifelong resident of Olean, he was born on May 24, 1964, to Norman Rhinehart, Sr. and Judy Davis. He was a graduate of Olean High School. He worked hard throughout his life beginning with a newspaper delivery route and most recently, spent the last 23 years working beside his son at Cooper/Eaton, where he took great pride doing his job right so that the customer would get the best product possible. Norm was a great family man and a loving father. He believed that family always came first. On October 15th, 1990, he married his wife, Patricia, who survives. They enjoyed 30 plus years happily together raising their four children. The couple always worked as a team spending the majority of their time enjoying life together. They enjoyed traveling together. While they were fortunate enough to enjoy a few special overseas destinations, they especially enjoyed visiting family. Recently they began traveling in their RV spending quality time seeing those they love. Norm loved his children and grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. Aside from being with his family, his favorite pastime was all things related to his vehicles. Norm will always be remembered for having the cleanest vehicle around. He shared his knowledge of vehicles with his children and their friends. He spent every Tuesday night eating pizza and enjoying time with Cousin Greg. In his free time, he took enjoyment from playing practical jokes, grilling, caring for his home and yard, classic rock, watching the Walking Dead, and attending any events featuring his children and grandchildren. Norm would also spend his time doing anything that made his wife and family happy such as antiquing, playing games and doing puzzles. He loved his dog and always welcomed the grand dogs to his home as well. He had a great deal of wisdom and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends alike. Besides his loving wife, Norm is survived by his children Nichole (Jim) Zink of Allegany, New York, Neal (Angela) June of Olean, New York, Sarah (Kerry) Rhinehart of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and Christopher (Alison Gehan) Rhinehart of Tampa, Florida. His grandchildren Rhiannon (Seth Desautels) Zink, Ryann Zink, Nolan Zink and Harper June. His parents Norman (Nadine) Rhinehart, Sr., of Allegany, New York, and Judy (Bradly) Davis of Cuba, New York, a sister Teri (Gary) Cowles and family of Olean, New York, a Cousin Greg (Deb) Clark of Olean, New York. Cousin Greg was his best friend, and more like a brother. He had a close relationship with his mother-in-law, Patricia Hopper, along with the rest of his wife’s family. Norm is also survived by a number of stepsiblings, an aunt and uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and numerous friends too lengthy to list. Norm was predeceased by his grandparents, Jack and Mary Golden formerly of Portville, New York, Wilber and Rose Rhinehart formerly of Olean, New York and a sister-in-law, Diane Fairbanks formerly of Gouverneur, New York. The family said their goodbyes privately and asks that any donations made in Norm’s honor go towards the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
