Allegany – Myrtle I. Clarke "Loving Wife, Mother, & Grandmother"
Myrtle I. Clarke, of the Absolut at Salamanca, formerly of 2615 North Nine Mile Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Myrtle was born on October 28, 1943 in Olean and was a daughter of Joseph and Emma Lielous Decker. In 1965, at the Methodist Church in Salamanca, she married her husband of 56 years, Paul M. Clarke, who survives.
Myrtle was an excellent homemaker, stay at home mom, baker, and cook. She enjoyed was well known for her crafting skills, especially potholders. Myrtle attended many craft shows and farmer's markets with her crafts for sale, after her children had grown up. She also enjoyed "bottle hunting," trying to find bottles that dated back into the 1800's. Myrtle was very adventurous and enjoyed the hovercraft that she and her husband, Paul owned. They travelled, on the hovercraft, to many places you wouldn't think of going without a cell phone and she liked all cats.
Along with her loving husband, Paul, Myrtle is survived by; 2 sons, Robert Clarke of Ohio and Frederick Clarke of Jamestown; and a grandson, Danny Clarke.
Myrtle was predeceased by a son, William "Will" Clarke.
