Ellicottville- Mary Carmella Rich “Retired Cattaraugus County Juror Commissioner”  

 Mary Carmella Rich of 6044 Route 219 South passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness with her loving partner by her side. 

 Mary was born on July 24, 1944, in Olean and was the daughter of Joseph and Palma DeRose Frungillo. On May 2, 1964, she married James M. Rich, who predeceased her on February 2, 2013. She has been with her loving partner John R. Treusdell since 2016. 

 Mary was a 1962 graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School and attended Cosmetology School in Olean. She was self-employed as a hairdresser and served as the Cattaraugus County Jury Commissioner until her retirement in 1998. Mary was very interested in politics and was chair of the Cattaraugus County Democratic Committee for several years. She enjoyed spending her winters on Hutchinson Island in Port St. Lucie, Florida from 1998 until 2018. Mary loved traveling, ocean cruises, gardening designing and creating jewelry, painting, cooking and baking. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, in Olean. 

 Mary is survived by her loving and devoted partner John R. Treusdell of Ellicottville, several cousins, and their families. 

At Mary’s request a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Olean. Burial will be in the Rich-Frungillo family plot at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
