Olean- Mary E. Maine “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister”

Mary E. Maine formerly of Field of Dreams, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, following an illness.

Mary was born June 5, 1945 in Olean and was the daughter of Lawrence and Eleanor Freaney Lyman.   She was formerly married to Russell “Chuck” Maine Sr.

Mary received her degree in counseling and was working as a counselor at Augusta Health until her retirement in 2003 she then moved back to Olean.  While living at Field of Dreams she was president of the committees. 

Mary was a member of Epic Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Mary liked going to antique stores in both VA and NY. 

Mary is survived by; 2 sons, Russell “Chuck” (Paris) Maine Jr. of Olean and Jeffery J. Maine of Waynesboro, VA; 10 grandchildren, Lisa, CJ, Russell, River, Erica, Emely, Elam, Sean, Sierra and Sonya; 3 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Bella and Rowan; and a sister, Patricia Finch of Olean.

Mary was predeceased by; her parents; a daughter, Kimberly S. Maine one July 13, 2012; a son, Cory J. Maine on April 13, 2020 and a sister Eleanor Erhart on January 16, 2018.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 3:00pm at Epic Church.  Her son Pastor Chuck Maine will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
