Olean- Marlyn R. Gross “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother”

Marlyn R. Gross passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Olean General Hospital.

Marlyn was born May 7, 1937 in Olean and was the daughter of Abram and Mary Gould Doty.  On October 6, 1956 at the Olean First Baptist Church she married her husband of 66 years Ronald L. Gross Sr. who predeceased her on May 12, 2023.

Marlyn retired from AUX of Olean in 1999 and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 10 years.  Her love for her family, friends and Our Lord and Savior was unwavering.  Marlyn loved family vacations to Myrtle Beach, holiday family get togethers, watching her great grandchildren play baseball and soccer.  She also loved a hotdog cooked over a bonfire at Roger and Micheles’ house.  Marlyn loved her German Shepards and Labs as well.

Marlyn liked watching cooking shows which we never understood because she was the best cook ever.   She baked with her grandchildren, usually cookies for the holidays and her famous homemade bread.

Marlyn is survived by; 3 children, Ronald L. (Patricia) Gross Jr., Lorraine G. (Jerry) Nenno both of Olean, Roger M. (Michele) Gross of West Clarksville; 5 grandchildren, Catherine (Kyle) Gross, Jessica (Bryan) Laverty, Matthew (Alicia) Gross, Jamie (Todd) Negrych and Kristine ( Ben Herne) Gross; 7 great grandchildren; Payton, Alaina, Brayden, Evan, Hunter, Nolan and Owen; 2 brothers, Ken Doty and John Doty; several nieces and nephews, including a loving niece, Paula Ursoy.

Along with her loving husband, Ronald, Marlyn was predeceased by; her parents; her sister, Phyllis Kent and her brother, Robert Doty.

Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00am.  The Rev. Terry L. Jenks, pastor of Maplehurst Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
