Hinsdale- John “Jack” E Kiernan “Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Great Grandfather”

John E Kiernan (74) of Hinsdale NY, passed away at home on September 13th, 2026, surrounded by family.

Jack was born on May 10, 1952, in Morristown, NJ. He was the son of John and Margaret Cursio Kiernan. On April 26, 1975, at Andrews AF Base, Maryland, he married Sandra E. Lundquist, who predeceased him on June 17, 2021.

Jack was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and great grandfather. He delivered mail for the United States post office in Parsippany, NJ for 37 years. Jack served in the United States Air Force for four years. He also was a volunteer fire fighter for the Parsippany Fire Dept. District 3. In 2007 he made the decision to retire, and move to Hinsdale, NY with his wife, where he worked at Kmart. He was well known for helping others, mowing lawns and plowing driveways after he fully retired. He enjoyed helping others, and spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Kiernan of Parsippany NJ, His wife Sandra Lundquist-Kiernan and a brother Timothy Kiernan of Hinsdale NY.

He is survived by his three children, Laurie McGonigle of Hinsdale NY, Margaret (Shane) Walker of Conway SC, John A Kiernan of Hinsdale NY, a brother Tom (Joanne) Kiernan of Gasburg Virginia. 3 Aunts of Parsippany NJ, 3 Nephews, 1 Niece. 11 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, 646 East State Street, Olean on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00pm at which time a memorial service will be held.  Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
