Allegany- Janet L. Drake “No Caption”

 Janet L. Drake formerly of Buffalo and Queen Street in Olean, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Olean General Hospital. 

 Janet was born March 30, 1948 in Olean and was the daughter of Orrin G. and Margaret Tengund Drake. 

 Janet was a 1966 graduate of Olean High School. She attended Bryant & Stanton in Buffalo. She obtained her associate’s degree ECC in Accounting & Paralegal. Janet also received her bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College in Criminal Justice. She worked at the Erie County Auditor’s Office until her retirement in about 2006. After returning to Olean to take care of her ailing sister she worked part time at the Cattaraugus County Probation Department and the Allegany Public Library. 

 Janet is survived by; several cousins including, Ann Tengund of Olean, Donald (Marge) Drake of Allegany and Linda M. (Rev. Gerald Zimmerman) Edstrom of Olean; and a dear friend, Thomas Golden of Texas.

 Janet was predeceased by; her parents and a sister, Martha Ann Drake on October 8, 2007 and an infant brother. 

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 9:00am to 11:00 am at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 6 Leo Moss Drive, Olean. At which time a memorial service will be held. Pastor Kim Rossi will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, with her sister Martha Ann. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E.
