Limestone- Jack R. Mason “Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather”

Jack R. Mason, 88, formerly of Limestone, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Bradford Manor with his family by his side.

Jack was born January 2, 1935 in Bradford, PA and was the son of John L. and Hattie Yehl Mason.  Jack and his twin Jerry were the first set of twins born in Bradford.  On August 24, 1957 in the Free Methodist Church in Allegany he married the love of his life Shirley M. Munday who survives.

Jack was a 1953 graduate of Allegany Central School.  Jack worked at Worthmore Feed and Eaton’s Dairy.  He also worked for the Town of Allegany and the Town of Carrollton as a truck driver, retiring at the age of 54 due to an illness. He moved and lived in Florida for about 15 years before moving back to Limestone in 2003. 

Jack coached Chipmonk Baseball for 32 years.  Jack enjoyed mowing his yard, working in his garden, was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan but most of all he loved attending sporting events to support his children and grandchildren.

Along with his loving wife Shirley, Jack is survived by; 4 children, Jeffrey L. (Chris) Mason of Allegany, Greg R. (Cathy) Mason of Bradford, PA, Denise M. (Carolyn Schultz) Mason of Harpers Ferry, WV, Jackie R. (Shea) Woods of Allegany; 7 grandchildren, Toddrick Mason, Shanell (Chris) Collins, Shaelynn Woods, Brad (Melissa) Mason, Shawn (Sara) Mason, Jeffrey Mason, Anthony (Hilary) Mason and 10 great grandchildren.

Jack was predeceased by; his parents; an infant son, Todd M. Mason and 12 siblings including his twin Jerry Mason.

Friends will be received on October 7, 2023 the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at which time a service will be held.  His nephew, Pat Eaton will officiate.  Burial will be in the Limestone Cemetery.   Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
