Olean-Gary L. Ranney “Loving Brother & Uncle”

Gary L. Ranney formerly of Eden Heights passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at The Pines Health & Rehab.

Gary was born on April 22, 1939 in Buffalo and was the son of Charles L. and Mildred A. Krueger Ranney. 

Gary was a 1957 graduate of Burgard High School in Buffalo.  He served in the US Airforce as an Aviation Mechanic from March 17, 1959 to March 16, 1967.  After the service Gary continued as an Aviation Mechanic and worked for a couple of companies including Bell Aircraft and National Gypsum in Buffalo.

Gary enjoyed collecting all things Studebaker, music including, 1950’s, 1960’s, Jazz Doo-Wap and Rhythm & Blues.  He also enjoyed collecting all the memorabilia pertaining to that music era.

Gary is survived by; a sister, Gail M. Cross of Olean; a niece, Barb A. Evans of Monroe, NC; 2 nephews, Brian M. (Susan) Cross of Olean and Daryl T. (Tabatha) Cross of Nonroe, NC; a niece, Gail A. Jones of Cuba and several great nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by; his parents; a brother-in-law, Gordon E. Cross on September 21, 2013 and a nephew, David G. Cross on January 25, 2023.

A private burial will be held in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Tonawanda.   The Rev. Galen Pupera will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
