Olean- Foyd E. “Dick” Maine II
Floyd E. Maine of Hillside Drive, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at his home following a brief illness.
Floyd was born November 18, 1939 in Olean and was the son of Floyd E. and Rachel Simon Maine Sr. Floyd married June M. Isaman on July 30, 1960 who predeceased him on August 5, 1967. He then married Janice M. Schwerk on February 13, 1968 who predeceased him on December 16, 2015.
Floyd attended Olean High School. He worked as an autobody mechanic along side his brother “Chuck” at his father’s garage. Floyd worked as a blacktop layer and later worked for his nephew “Chuckie” as a laborer.
Floyd enjoyed hunting, camping, reloading his own ammo, refurbishing classic cars, and living off the land eating what he grew and raised.
Floyd is survived by; 9 children, Floyd E. (Ilie) Maine and Scott A. (Lisa) Maine both of Olean, Christopher E. (Patricia) Maine of Allegany, Todd R. (Gonzalo Perez) Maine of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Bambi S. Maine of Hoboken, GA, Tamila J. Maine of Olean, Robert S. Maine of NC, Tara L. (John) Tolliver of Buffalo, and Betsy M. (Steven) Tuttle of Hinsdale; his grandson Andre A. (Telicia) Maine whom he raised. Floyd has over 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who call him “Papa”; 2 sisters, Pat (Paul) McGavisk of Olean and Virginia Hyde of Allegany.
Along with his wives, June and Janice; Floyd was predeceased by; his parents; 5 siblings, Ronald Maine, Edward “Joe” Maine, Russell “Chuck” Maine, Shirley Solarek and Rosie Kirk; and twin grandchildren, Nicholas and Daniel Maine.
Friends will be received at the Epic Church, 411 West Henley Street, Olean, on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at which time a memorial service will be held. Rev. Chuck Maine will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
