Belfast– Darleen A. Person “Loving Wife, Mother & Grandmother”
Darleen A. Person of Wildwood Drive passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the Wellsville Manor.
Darleen was born on September 23, 1948, in Olean, and was the daughter of Robert J. and Mary Jane Simmons Panada. On July 27, 1985, in Obi, she married Thomas D. Person, who survives.
Darleen was a 1966 graduate of Olean High School. She lived in Florida and Tennessee before returning to Olean. She worked at Cuba Cheese in Cuba for several years and then became a waitress and Friendly’s in Olean. Around 2002, Darleen became a teacher’s aid at Belfast Central School where she loved working and retired in 2019. Darleen enjoyed reading, flower gardening and sunbathing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Being a grandmother was the highlight of her life. Darleen was a member of Belfast United Methodist Church.
Beside her loving husband, Thomas, Darleen is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly A. Enderlin of Webster and Amanda D. (James) Hennard of Fillmore, her three grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, and Owen, a sister, Noreen (Peter) Hickey of Winterville, NC., three step siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Darleen is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, James Panada, on September 21, 2025.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00am at Belfast United Methodist Church. The Pastor Craig Buelow will officiate.
