Allegany- Connie Jean Race
Connie Jean Race passed away on February 5, 2026, following a brief illness.
She was born and raised in the Penn Yan area and soon after completing nursing school, she moved to Olean, where she spent her career working at the Olean General Hospital. Known for her kindness and compassion, Connie was a friend to all and made a lasting impact on those she met. Following her retirement, she continued to serve the community she loved by volunteering at the hospital and driving for Interfaith Caregivers.
Connie enjoyed traveling and especially cherished sharing stories and photographs from her trips out west. She had a deep love for animals; her cocker spaniel, Friday, along with her two cats, were a great source of joy in her life.
While residing at the Field of Dreams, Connie was known for her warm sense of humor and infectious smile. She was always the first one to crack a joke or make a funny face, just to make you smile. Her presence brought light to those around her, and those who knew her were better for it.
There will be no services at this time burial will be in St. Bonaventure. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
In Connie’s memory, the family encourages acts of kindness—making someone smile, just as Connie so often did.
